Our Story
Merano Partners was established by real people, with real experiences across a broad range of sectors and business stages to ultimately support founders answer the questions that only experience can teach us.
Merano was founded by entrepreneur, Dean Willemsen, who at 11 years old would borrow his father's ride-on lawn mower to cut his neighbours’ lawns and went on to become an EY Entrepreneur of the Year finalist. He later studied in India to become a yoga teacher and has founded numerous businesses with a focus on technology and innovation - three of which have been recognised on the AFR's Fast Growing companies lists. Whilst Dean has successfully exited some businesses and remains on the board of others, he has also not so successfully divested another via receivership (noting ALL creditors were repaid their capital).
Dean's mission is to apply his hard earnt learnings to support founders make better decisions as they navigate the challenges of growing a business, mergers and acquisitions as well as raising the right type of capital. He draws on his incredible network of highly motivated and culturally aligned professionals to bring his energy and passion for delighting customers to life.
